He is the supreme protector, fixer of all problems, and granter of all your wishes. Hang on! We aren’t talking about God but dads! Fathers fill up so many roles in a person’s life, helping one through all the stages they encounter. They are the first mentor, first banker and also first coach. They are instrumental in teaching the child many things about himself and the world, and shape his way of thinking.

Most fathers around the world are essentially similar but, sometimes each one has their unique traits and idiosyncrasies. Serious conversation, lame dad jokes and countless life advice is a patent dad thing to do, and we love them for it.

Following are 5 epic dads from the cartoon world that taught all of us some important life lessons –

Nigel Thornberry, The Wild Thornberrys – Follow your heart

Sir Nigel Archibald Thornberry KBE is a rare specimen from the father pool. An adventurer and naturalist, he packs his family in the RV and sets out on expeditions to the wild side of Earth. Although offered many jobs, he chooses to pursue his passion to study the wild and passes on his thirst for exploration to his daughter, Eliza. A family man, he is always concerned about his family’s safety and tries to protect them in his own ways. He is gentle, and endearing and presents an interesting dialogue on traditional upbringing methods. Sir Nigel, you are a rockstar!

It is true that relationships with fathers can be frictional, and the generation gap sometimes may seem wider than it actually is, but that’s the fun! The silly fights, and tete-a-tetes wih him are truly special and one cannot simply have these moments with someone else. All your life he has tried to the right thing for you and the family, saving for you and spending on you. His time, energy and his resources. It’s time to slowly start giving back, and a great way to do that is by taking care of yourself in the best way possible. Nothing gets fathers more excited than seeing their offsprings be financially secure and stable.
